Automotive Intralogistics and Warehousing

Stoecklin is proud to offer Automotive Intralogistics and Warehousing  to our clients in the Industry

Automotive Warehousing and Intralogistics

Today’s automotive assembly plants run on extremely tight production schedules. Gone are the days all the components for automobiles were being made in the same factory, or even in the same country. However, the parts from a variety of locations must come together to create vehicles.
In addition automobile manufacturers want to store as few of the millions of different components as possible. They want these components just in time, which obviously creates more complexity and less wiggle room for the component’s manufacturers. Adding to this problem, consumers have an ever increasing variety of options to choose from, which means that many of the components differ for every car on the line. Suppliers must sequence the correct parts to precisely match up with each individual vehicle being assembled.

That’s why automotive automated production support facilities turn to Stoecklin.

Stoecklin knows the automotive environment and how to best harness your resources to meet your customers’ demands. Often in these high-paced environments you only have a few minutes from getting an order, to pulling the correct components, and getting it on the dock ready for delivery.

You need a system that continuously and seamlessly works together, from inbound to the WMS, to the WCS, then to the controls and motors on the automation equipment. The task of tracking hundreds of thousands, or even millions, of parts can be intimidating. That’s why Stoecklin carefully absorbs the data from your operation to help build a system that can handle the complexity of your operation.

For instance, at the BLG Logistics center, where they house and ship wiring harnesses for Mercedes-Benz, the turnaround would be nearly impossible without automation and software systems to drive quick and accurate processing. At the heart of its operations, BLG relies on an automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) supplied by Stoecklin Logistics. The three-aisle system is based on a mini-load system that was modified to accommodate the larger wooden boxes that hold the harnesses

Stoecklin knows that sometimes the machinery and software to make a system work are not a one size fits all strategy. For that reason, they created a system that is flexible and works with the oversized wooden boxes that hold the harnesses. The boxes measure 73 x 32 x18 inches, requiring larger carriages and right-sized racking locations to hold them.

We also recognize that in the automotive industry, any delay in components can shut down the line for the car manufacturer resulting in delays, higher costs, and cascading disruptions in the supply chain.
We also take into account that you may be receiving the parts to make your components from around the world. Their inbound and storage is just as important as order reception, picking, sequencing, and outbound. Stoecklin takes the entire makeup of your operation into consideration in order to design and create the best automotive intralogistics system for you.
That’s why we have been trusted the world over and have dozens and dozens of automotive reference sites. Our key is to provide you with the right system for your needs, that helps you delight your customers daily.
